what tool do i need to change spark plugs on my 2009 toyota corolla?
I need to change spark plugs on my 09 toyota corolla. I tried to change it by myself. I took off the ignition coil and there is a some part on the spark plug, what is that and what tool do I need to change it? Thank you for your help
You need a spark plug socket and an extension bar to reach down into the engine. There are a few different sizes of spark plug socket which are determined by which brand of spark plugs are fitted to your engine-best to ask at the auto store where you buy the new spark plugs buy a spark plug socket at the same time.
You may be able to get something like a 30 piece socket set for under $20 at most auto shops, good thing with these is they already have the extension bar and a reversible ratchet type handle just make sure that the spark plug socket has a soft rubber insulator inside it-without this the ceramic insulators on the spark plugs can break.
