2003 corolla a/c only blows hot air?

Default 2003 corolla a/c only blows hot air?
My car is working fine in every way, besides the air conditioner. When it is on, it blows at normal pressure, but will absolutely not get cold. I had it looked at, and the stpre told me it was the compressor, and in order to change it, i had to pay 950$. However, online, it says that as long as it blows air, it will not be the compressor. What can i do???

Go to Auto Zone or whatever parts store you have around you, and get some of that Freon. Its pretty cheap. Try charging the system. Maybe it works. Its only a few bucks, and you will know for sure if the compressor is bad.

Whatever you read online is incorrect. It COULD be the compressor. It could also be a hose leak, low regfrigerant, bad fuse, condenser or even a botched recent car battery install which added a ground loop.































If you doubt the word of the first shop, take it to another one and see what they say.

The compressor has nothing to do with whether it blows air. It could indeed be the compressor but I would want the opinion of an auto A/C specialist. Diagnosing a bad compressor is tricky.

Wherever you heard that ludacris statement that if it blows air, then it's not the compressor is wrong, wrong, WRONG. The compressor powers the AC, the blower motor is what blows air through the vents, 2 completely different systems.
