Default Toyota Avensis 2007 stuck fuel gauge?
The fuel gauge on my 2007 Avensis 1.6 is stuck on the full tank position since the last time I topped up the tank, however the on-board computer seems to be accurately informing the car's autonomy as I drive. What could be the problem and how cheap/expensive it is to get it fixed? When I turn the engine off, the gauge goes down to zero as expected. All other gauges are working fine. Please help! Thank you.















If I don't replace it straight away could it cause any problems further than not knowing how much fuel I have left?































I don't understand why the on-board computer is able to calculate how many miles I can drive with the current fuel level... Sorry for my ignorance.

Probably a faulty sender unit in the tank. If you have a multimeter and know what you're doing you can test the sender and the gauge itself but I suspect it'll be a garage job.















Shouldn't be too dear.

Sounds like the fuel guage sender unit is at fault, its inside the fuel tank, find a back street garage to advise you on prices to supply and fit
