Default I am interested in buying a 1999 Toyota Camry with 149,000 miles for 4400.00. Is the car
going to die soon? I actually decided not to get that one because the place just gets them from auctions and can't tell me anything about the history. It was a V6.































However, now I am looking at a 2000 Toyota Camry LE Sedan w/120K miles. It is a 4-cyl. They say inspected until 10/31/2012 - which, I thought inspections were only 1 year... Anyways, the ad does say there is a good car fax w/no issues, so I may go look at it tonight. They are asking 4795.00... thoughts on this one?

Any car is individual and dependent on how it was treated and maintained. However, the Toyota Camry is a top rated used car and has one of the best chances to continue to be a good car even with the high mileage this car has.































The price seems to be in line with it's age and miles, depending on the specific model and options this car has.































Pay to have the car checked out by a qualified mechanic before buying it. That won't uncover all defects, but it will point out obvious mechanical difficulties.































Also, have a CarFax report done. That will tell you if the car was ever in a flood and how many owner's it's had, which might give you an idea of it's maintenance history. A one owner car has a greater chance of having had all the maintenance done than a multi owner car.

Is it a V6 or a 4 cylinder? If it is a 4 cylinder, its gonna last for a long time. If its a V6, I would say its on it's last legs.

you shouldnt buy a 12 year old car for $4400.00. think your getting ripped off there

It all depends on how the owner took care of the car. If the car has been well taken care of, then expect that thing to last 200,000, or even 300,000. You didn't even say what type of Camry it was, or the condition, so I can't really tell you about the price.
