definitely
drove on as my first, has good features/ comfortable ride (seats 5 comfortably); handles well and is reliable for a long time, good on gas and easy to insure (big money savers over time)
-easy to park/ fits well (nice mid size car, lets you get used to parking, but not too difficult either ie a yaris is too easy to park, but a van/ pickup is asking for a few problems) -also has lots of usable trunk space for hauling whatever you need, but the space is not so flexible in the cabin
-performance is enough to get you around city or highway, and is one of the safest cars on the market (ie crashes, has traction and stability control + anti-lock brakes [probably '09 and newer, but they are updated on current models too] and all standard airbags)
-to buy on your own, it can be fairly pricey especially when you're starting out, but if you have the money or some help, it is a wise investment, talking from personal experience (choose your trim level well, just what you need nothing extra to save a bit)
