brake and clutch fluid are the same for this vehicle.
------
general back fire upon deccelleration denotes a vacuum leak. since you smell fuel, a general carb rebuild, intake valve leak, or t-chain and tenssioner issue may be in play here..
so you may have a few different issues there.
bad distributor shaft bushings can cause backfire as well. along with t-chain/tenssioner issues, usually get a pop out the carb as well when shifting.
distributor bushings are not seviceable on these. if you grab the rotor. pull it side to side/up and down, any play requires a new distributor (not internal components).
shifting issue after warming,
likely needs the trans fluid changed.
low fluid in master cyl or clutch peddle rigging wouldn't be effected by temp. bad clutch would likely be accompanied with other symptoms.
another remote possibility for hard shifts,
there is a teflon bushing at the base of the shifter. it is known to wear and cause hard shifting. may or may not be effected by temps.
