My car takes Dexron III but I already have STP fluid.?

Default My car takes Dexron III but I already have STP fluid.?
I want to change it because its brown and low. But the user manual says to use Dexron III and I already bought STP steering fluid. Is it okay to use this in my car? I have a 1998 camry

Dexron is not a brand, it's a type of fluid.































Look at the bottle of STP, does it say if it's compatible with cars needing Dexron III? If so, you'll be fine. If not, do not use it.































Next time, read the owners manual first.

it has stp in it because it is so worn and needs some parts replacing.
