There is no such thing as saving money by buying a 2011 rather than a 2012 . That trick has been around for ages . A dealer makes money on every car they sell . They could care less what year it is but after hearing your story for the past 100 years car shoppers actually believe it . Any dealer will give you $ 2000 off a brand new 2011 or 2012 Toyota Sienna. Where additional savings comes into play is if the Toyota company ( not the dealer ) is offering a rebate on the 2011 in order to help move that inventory . However , remember some important factors here . The rebate must be significant because you are willing to drive a one year old car off their lot so a $ 500 rebate is not enough to take such a hit , it should be closer to $ 3000 . I just bought a 2012 Suburban . The 2011 which is the same identical vehicle was offered to me for $ 3000 off and a $ 3000 rebate . The 2012 was sold to me at $ 3000 off and a $ 2000 rebate . In addition I did an incentive search on Edmunds and found my name on a manifest list for an additional $ 1500 and on a USAA list for an extra $ 500 .
