Default My 2007 Toyota Pruis Engine light came on at 80,000 miles etc. Is this normal to come on at 80.000?
Not sure if it's because I had my oil changed last month or else it needs checked out?? I've had no problems with my 07 Pruis and love it like as though I bought it yesterday still. I smile all the time when I fill up at the gas pump too. My car needs all the loving she can get, so I would rather take care of her and to make sure the engine light is something I do not have to worry in the near future. I will have it checked but would rather do research as to why it came on? No troubles thus far....She rides as good as the day she and I walked down the Isle, I mean HWY =) Any suggestions would be great and thanks!!! Navy Combat Veteran....

As a Toyota owner myself I would like to say they are great vehicles and I love my 05 Matrix. I would say it is normal for the check engine light to come on, no worries. Of course its better not to have the light turn on in the first place but it can be anything minor from a sensor going bad or something along those lines. Are you experiencing any other problems other than the check engine light being on? If there is an Auto zone anywhere near your location you can get the check engine light checked out for free and they will tell you what is exactly wrong, but I wouldn't be too worried about the check engine light.

I wouldn't say it's normal for the engine light to come on.































Have you had the inverter coolant pump replaced under the service bulletin? That's one cause for the trouble code (engine light) and the Toyota service departments are replacing them for free. Did you get the bulletin in the mail? It's been causing some codes as bubbles form around the pump impeller and cause a temperature reading error.































It's possible that a sensor is starting to go bad. Stop by an auto parts store and have them use their code reader to tell you what the code is signifying.
