My 2008 FJ Cruise (automatic transmission with part time 4WD) gets about 14-15 mpg. I would strongly recommend buying a nice used one. I bought mine used with 30,000 miles on it for $14,000 less than the sticker price of a brand new one, and that included a 5 year warranty.
