It does not matter because U haul will make you buy a square tube reciever hitch and install it before letting you tow any of thier trailers. Police departments for many years have written tickets for trailers that ripped off those bumper plate hitches. U haul finally stopped letting people tow with unsafe bumper plate hitches. and now they use the bottom of the bumper as part of the mounting plate for the square tube hitch.
U haul sells them, but they are more expensive than others on the market you can buy different brands at auto stores or wal mart stores, or have them installed at many tire stores or places that make and sell different kinds of utility trailers, It depends on how much you want to spend. I always had my trailer lights wired by the u haul dealer ( the same way the did thier trailers) this worked out fine. they used to charge 60 bucks an hour or 30 for a half hour, but its been awhile since I have used a U haul.
