whats the average cost of changing the timing chain for a 2005 corolla?

ive read all 2000 and later models have chains, not belts. my corolla has about 150K miles on it and has never been changed. should i do this very soon? and approximately how much should i expect to pay? thanks in advance!

Sometimes they will last a long time. If it was me I would change it so wouldn't be on the side of the road. The price all depends on where u take it a garage will be expensive. But a shadetree mechinic like myself is much cheaper.

Timing chain is much safer to use than a timing belt. It will lengthened due to stress causes power lost as the engine timing is affected. You will hear a loud tattering sound and unusually engine vibration. If you are still comfortable with current performance leave it.
