Toyota corolla seca gears change difficulty?
Hi,
I have a 1998 Toyota Corolla seca. About 2days ago I was driving back home and just before climbing a hill near my house I down shifted to second and then at the top the car picked up enough speed for me to change to third. Problem is when I tried shifting from second to third the gear would not pop into 3 at all! The revs of the vehicle dropped considerably that the car nearly started to stall and I had to quickly pull over onto the side! (Bit scary)
This happened to me today morning too, the car was shifting well until I shifted from 2nd to 3rd but this time on a flat road. I had the clutch fully depressed.
Something else I have noticed is that the friction point of the clutch has reduced, if you know what I mean. It feels like I have to depress it further than I use to before it engages.
I have checked clutch fluid and it is full. I have also checked the slave cylinder for leaks, none at all. I know for a fact that the clutch is not slipping because the revs and the speed of the car feel like they are in sync.
Any ideas how I should trouble shoot the problem further?
Thanks in advance
