Default Toyota Corolla Rolls back on hills?
I just purchased a 2007 Toyota Corolla with 64k miles on it, it's an automatic transmission. I was on a steep hill today and when I took my foot off the brake the car rolled back a bit. My last car had an auto transmission and this did not happen. Is this normal?

Depends on the car, and how heavily it is loaded. In general it doesn't surprise me if a car rolls back on a hill.

Any car can roll back on a steep hill. Normal slpoes this shouldn't happen. You just need to time your foot off the brake and immediately onto the gas when your on a steep hill at a light, so this don't happen...also driver behind you should never pull so colse to you on a hill, so that they do not get hit if your car does this.

This may be common for toyota. I have driven a number of cars (GM and Ford) that were automatic and do not remember that they ever rolled back. I was concerned enough with my first toyota corolla that I took it to the dealership because it rolled back when it was in drive and I took my foot off the brake. They assured me that nothing was wrong with the car. My next toyota was a manual transmission, but I have driven toyota automatic's while having work done at the dealership, and every one of those cars has rolled back slightly when in drive when I take my foot off the brake.
