there are benefits to drawing colder, denser air as opposed to bay air.
few things,
1. it already has one. in that the inlet is up next to the grille. actual inlet is through the grille.
2. most cone type hipo (*less restrictive @ rpm*) kits will be drawing engine bay air. they can get mounted up front. so they do get cool air when moving. but in stop and go traffic, it will draw engine bay air. unless you poke it through the grille. there's to much other stuff up there to do it w/o other mods.
3. the 3VZE is a two valve truck engine, it will never see the continuous 6,000 rpm+ to benefit from any freer flow advantages either.
4. you have a VAF (volume air flow meter) and an IAT (intake air temp sensor) that needs to be incorporated into your mod.
that should tell you that in this case what you end up with is bling.
if you still want it, i'd go to an auto parts store and have them help you. they can measure the inlet and set you up with something that will fit.
