Default 1990 toyota truck 3.0..help?
why is this engine getting hot...i have replaced the thremostat, cluch fan, burped the system,,,i takes for ever to get to normal operation temp, but still runs a little hot,,,the circulation is fine, new coolant, so i guess it can only be water pump....thats a huge job on this POS.....

Those engines were famous for blowing head gaskets. lets exhaust gas blow into the coolant - gets really hot. thats even a bigger job. make sure to get the original parts from toyota with the updated gaskets. Exhaust gas bubbles in the coolant may obstruct the temp sensor - so it wont get to normal readings.

replacing the t-stat and she takes a long time to warm up?































that smacks of a bad engine temp sensor or compromised wire going to it. on the block. not the rad.















bad pump, engine would likely get warm/hot quick.















any other signs of over heating? if not, definitely check that out b4 thinking bout a pump issue. very cheap.















FYI,















toy did have an issue with the gaskets around this time when the EPA outlawed asbestos. but they were on a recall and most were addressed.















the other head gasket issue comes about due to the rt exhaust cross over pipe routed behind the heads near the firewall. *generally* doesn't cook the gasket, but does cook hoses back there and #5&6 valve guide seals.















head gaskets can leak w/o cross contamination of fluids, puffing white smoke, or backfiring.

I agree. those 3.0 engines are pieces of shit. I would sell the thing and get a 3.4 if you still want a toyota.
