how to improve power in my 94 corolla? turbo?

i have a 94 corolla dx, 1.8L standard. i was wondering, should i get an exhaust headers, intake, maybe some spark plugs etc..or should i just turbo it? i dont want to spend over a grand. is there a way to get a turbo for under $1000?

Sell it and get a faster car, don't put a turbo on a 17 year old car or you're asking for problems. But if you want to do some minor modifications I suggest a cold air intake and catback exhaust. However the ten or so horsepower you'd gain from those wouldn't seem worth the 600-800 dollars spend on them in my opinion.

your better off getting a new car thats super charged. I just got a 2008 chevy malbu maxx ss for 17, thousand dollars.its worth it.its super fast.

Remember the more power you give it, the more gas money you will spend. I would suggest checking to make sure there is no govenor on the vehicle, 1st. 2nd I would look at putting a chip in the engine or having the pipes redone if not already done. The more air the engine gets, the better it will perform. Always start with normal maintenance first like the spark plugs and wires, because they are the cheapest to have done.

1. A new turbocharger alone is $1200. So no, you won't get a turbo setup for less than $1000. Plus, you're talking about spending $1000+ for adding 40hp to a pos $200 car. Best mod is a for sale sign to buy a faster car. And no, a Malibu maxx isn't a fast car.
