Default Is this a good 1st car? Toyota Corolla 2006?
I am thinking of buying a Toyota Corolla 2006 for less than $10,000, mileage 122k. I don't know too much about cars, but should I be concerned about the mileage (aprox 24k/yr)?

Thats a lot of miles! I have a 2001 Corolla it has about 135,000 and died today. I dont know for sure what happened but think it may have been the transmission. I bought my car back in 2007 it only had 87,000 miles on it 3 months after i bought it i had issues. It really just depends on who had the car before and how well it was taken care of. Pretty sure my next vehicle will be Chevy, GMC, or Pontiac.

They are good cars, I have a 2001 with 125,000 miles on it. Yours is 5 years newer with almost the same mileage. Also, I have always had my oil changed and maintenance done. If you cannot see the vehicle maintenance records, I think I would walk away from a car with this many miles on it. Also, the cost is a bit high for a car with that many miles.

$10K for 2006 Corolla thats abit much dont buy it if you cant get a Carfax report on it.

I would prefer some of Japanese small or mid-size cars to minimize insurance. First time drivers pay much more for insurance. You can estimate how insurance quotes depends on car online here
