Is there any way to get the 6 cyl diesel SUV's into the US?

I love the idea of a bullet proof, fuel economic, torque machine 6 cyl diesel in a foreign 4x4. i just want one here in my toyota or isuzu!!!!!

any sold in canada, or do i have to get them shipped???

there sold in canada, take it to a coast customs or something and get them to order it for you. they might even have one in stock, but online shipping is always good and u could get a better deal.

You can import foreign 4wds but you generally need to wait until they are 25 years old in order to waive the US safety regulations. Don't overlook the 4-cylinder diesels such as the Toyota 2.8 or 3.0! Foreign 4wd's less than 25 years old in the US can be seized by the government.

Swapping a diesel engine from a foreign market into a 4wd that is already sold in the US can be easier from a legal standpoint, as the vehicle already meets US safety regulations. You may have some emissions issues to work through, depending on the state where you live.

A friend bought one in the Democratic Republic of Congo and there was some sort of embargo that wouldn't let me bring it to the us. I was really mad. but I had no luck. I do know you can import just the engine and do a swap but its not cost efficient.

Is there any way to get the 6 cyl diesel SUV's into the US?
