get a set of jump leads. place the black one on the NEGATIVE of the battery. place the other black one, onto a big peice of metal on the engine block. there is normally a bracket or something you can use.
if it starts first time, you need a new earth strap - fairly common, and cheap to repair.
the solenoid on that car likely won;'t be of the servicable type. so yeah, its a starter swap.
