There's pros and cons to buying it. We have pretty nice weather here in So. Cal, as you already know. However, the way the weather has been, you might be driving with the top up most of the time to avoid sunburn. That car has a power top so no problem their but the plastic rear window tints to fade badly because many owners you windex on the back window. A bottle of $8 Maguire's Plast-X from Autozone can help avoid that. Celicas are reliable cars and cheap to own. However, there the cons to owning a convertible are:
Easy to break into (check insurance company first)
The top may need to be replaced periodically (check around and price tops before buying. Also Check for leaks)
Due to the car not having a permanent top, reinforcements are built into the body of convertibles to reduce body flex. This means that the car will be heavier than the hardtop versions( meaning a little slower acceleration and lower gas mileage)
The Plastic back window might need replacing.
Otherwise, these are great cars. Just make sure to have a mechanic look at it before buying.
