Default WHAT IS THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN THE MR2 AND MR2 SPYDER (TOYOTA)?
I PURCHASED A USED TOYOTA...THE AD CALLED IT A SYDER, BUT NOTHING IN THE INFO OR ON THE VEHICLE SAYS ANYTHING BUT MR2

MR2 Spyder is the roadster, convertible or whatever you want to call it, regular MR2 is hard top non-convertible.

The other answers are a little deceiving, the two cars were not sold at the same time, the first two models of MR2 were available as either fixed roof or targa tops (removable panels) the third generation MR2 was a soft-top or Spyder model.































Incidentally the third gen model was known as MRS in it's native Japan but that name was dropped for international sale for obvious reasons, yet in france MR2 is pronounced as emm-aire-duh which sounds similar to the french word MERDE, which they really should have considered if they were that worried about the name!!

The MR2 is an earlier model and trim. The MR2 spyder is newer model it got discontinued in the mid 2000' s and that was that last model of MR2 to be made
