I have a 95 toyota camry and im wanting to take a trip.?

I was wondering if it has 150000 miles if its safe to drive about 2000 miles or a 2 n a half day trip?

I'm no mechanic but I would think if you car has been kept up with maintence it would be okay. To be safe take it to a local shop and have them do a safety inspection and that give you more of an idea.

it all depends on your car's condition and how well it's been maintained. if you're unsure enough to be asking on yahoo, i highly suggest you get it checked out by a trusted mechanic. 150k isn't a lot of miles on modern cars, so if the mechanic says it's good then it's good.

if you're taking a trip this long in an older car, just make sure you check on the basics. before you leave, i definitely suggest you have the oil changed. you're going to putting a decent bit of stress on this car for an extended period of time, you don't want your oil breaking down on you. make sure your tires are in good shape, you're going to need them(especially if you hit bad weather on an unfamiliar highway). make sure you have a spare, a jack, and a lug wrench. also, keep some jumper cables handy in the trunk. and last, ALWAYS keep a blanket in the trunk(you never know).

When you drive it, listen really close and see if you can hear a very a slight ticking noise. If not then your most likely good to go. I would just give it a tune-up(spark plugs, spark plug wires, oil & filter change, air filter, and some injector cleaner, make sure the tires are inflated right, and check the alignment) before you go. Camry's do tend to be very long lasting cars and don't usually start to fall apart before 200k miles.
