How much does it cost to remove & replace, overhaul a 2000 camry 2.2 engine

in a shop? maybe 2k-4K? your best bet maybe a rebuilt motor yet will still cost ya around 2K to install

What is wrong with the engine? If it's the headgasket, about $1000-1200 by an independent mechanic. My advice is to check around and see what a low mileage used Japanese engine will cost to swap. Usually it is cheaper to go that route. However, if it costs the same, the engine can be swapped faster than the rebuild.
