KBB is a guide for lending institutions. not a real world value on any vehicle save newer ones. i'd check online sources or local media for like model and condition.
i've seen 'em running, good over all condition, stocker, sell for as low as $1500. as high as $2-3000. more with upgraded wheels/tires and/or a smaller 4" lift kit.
my preference is the 22RE I4 engine. not the 3VZE V6. much cheaper maint on consumable engine parts and labor, arguably just as capable in 4x4, lower center of gravity, and as far as 4x4's go better on fuel. but the I4 due to it's long stroke engine, have difficulty maintaining hwy speeds. so if your a commuter you prolly don't want the I4 option. the V6 is better for towing and can fly on the hwy. so there's a real give and take in apps for those two.
aside from engine options and creature comforts, they had an option for auto lock hubs w/ADD. i prefer the manual hubs as they have less components to screw up. but i do some serious 4x4ing. if your mostly on the street dealing with snow and such, auto lockers maybe just fine for you.
owner 93 toy pu V6, 88 toy pu I4 both 4x4's
pickups and runners are sister platforms in this generation. runners tend to go for more than the pu. prolly cause there's more soccer moms than 4x4 ppl.
