Shoul I warm up my Toyota Conquest 1996?

I drive a 1996 toyota conquest. I have been told I should always 'warm up' my after a long time of not driving say over night or maybe after work. I have also read opposing statements saying that idling is not good at all.

Please tell me should I or should I not warn it up? What will be the damage if I don't?

the vehicle will not be damaged if not warmed up. Most peolple do it with an older vehicle on a cold day, so the vehicle will run properly when driven. if the vehicle runs good when it starts i would just drive in it right away no damage can be done.

I've always thought it wasn't neccesary to warm up a car unless it is carberated.

Most cars stopped using those around 87 so unless you have a car from before 87 don't worry about it

you should always let your vehicle warm up for 30sec to 1min before you drive, to make everything gets lubricated.

if it's cold outside you should warm it up for several minutes, up to 10 or 15, depending on how cold it is. whenever oil is cold, it is thick and will not get in all of the tight places, which could cause them to weld together. oil has to heat up to properly lube your engine

always let it warm up. no matter what vehicle you have or how old it is. it will put a lot of wear and strain on the engine if you don't.

p.s. you're a mechanic, yet you can't even spell it correctly? yep, trust that guy.

30 seconds to a minute.Takes that long to warm and circulate the oil.Starting then immediately driving a car can put unnecessary wear on bearings.Takes around 4 hours for the oil in the journals to run to the pan when sitting.Over night there is a very thin film on moving parts but not enough to protect them.
