Default I have 89 toyota camry having starter issues?
Symptoms of my toyota noisy when engaged and sometimes will click but wont start. So i thought it was starter so i bought brand new one and checked flywheel teeth and pinion teeth both were fine. So after I changed starter didnt have issues for bout a month now there back. Im out of ideas?

weak bat, corroded terminals or cable issue (positive-the big red cable going from the bat to the starter). check ground strap for the block to frame. then have the starter bench tested at any auto parts store. prolly good. but you need all those in serviceable condition at the same time.

Friend has one and the same problem you describe. The 89 Toyotas after 120,000 show these same signs when the starter solenoid needs replacing. It's common in the Camry's around this year of car.
