You are wasting your time and money! You should be thinking career choices and appropriate courses, your life is much more important than a car.

Any way if you this car manages to keep goings without a major break down, you would of spent enough money already.
Car insurance is another big expenditure about 1K for starters with medium full coverage which I do not recommend for this car since it'
this cr's value is near a couple of hundreds dollars right now!
Any upgrades as you have stated only make more likely to get stolen and all that money will disappear in a wreck.
Find a honest mechanic at a reasonable price to do the hard work and get a service book or cd to do the minor stuff.
The only thing I would invest in is safety related or fuel saving maintenance and proven devices like a reusable air cleaner and half and half synthetic oil mixed with regular oil.
Please do not waste your money on a paint job! good paint jobs start at about 4K!
Again think of your future not this old car.
