What do these lights mean on a 07 Toyota Prius vsc, power steering, abs and maintenance

required light? these 3 lights are on VSC, ABS, Power steering, and maintenance required. I have a 2007 Toyota Prius that was in an accident. What do the lights mean and what can I do to fix it? thanks

There could be problems with the indicated systems. On the other hand there could be damage to the wiring which is causing false alerts. The maintenance required light is the 5000 mile oil change reminder light and is only a reminder. If it hasn't been 5000 miles since the last change (the light starts flashing at 4500 miles and becomes steady at 5000) then I'd suspect a wiring problem to the sensors rather than a problem with the systems themselves. You'll need to take it to a Prius dealer or independent Prius mechanic to get it fixed.

Note that if the sensors are sending false information, it can act as if the systems themselves were having problems, so functionality is not a sure indication of problems with the systems.

Once, when I removed the brake-calipers from my parents 07 prius, the same lights came on. There was nothing wrong with the car, but the computers were confused because I had removed the brakes and then put them back on. All I had to do was go down to Toyota and they reset the electronics with a special diagnostics-tool. Didn't take any time at all and didn't cost anything.

Be careful while driving though, because you'll most likely have to press harder on the brake-pedal as well as be cautious to the front wheels locking if you break really hard, rendering your steering useless.
