those cars have been known to go in excess of 300,000 miles, a lot depends on who owned it , how they drove it and did they do the maintenance on it. There are still a lot of celica s on the road older than that one so its all relative and in truth mechanically if it has the inline 4 cylinder this was an outstanding motor, that occasionally would blow a head gasket. As long as you caught it before all the oil ran out, you just had to repair the head gasket, if its leaking on one side of the engine or the other, this is usually how it starts. As with any used car, unless its dirt cheap, take it to a mechanic for a quick once over good luck,
