How much does it take to fill a 1989 Toyota 4Runner?

Im being told that $35 won't even get it up to half a tank so does it cost more than $80 to fill it?

Lets see.. a 4runner from 89 has a 17 gallon tank (64 liters)

National average on gas is about 3.50

So 3.5*17= $59 per tank of gas

A 4runner is rated at 17 miles per gallon, which isnt that great really, but good for trucks

So 250 miles until you only have a little gas left or so

I have an '85, which has the same tank-size.

My fill-ups are usually around 10 gallons (The tank holds 17.2), so it costs about $35 to fill when you get town to about 1/8-1/4 on the gauge.

I get about 20 mpg with the 22RE--about 200 miles per fill.

I just looked at the link you posted. The picture on the page is a '90 or '91 2nd generation 4Runner, not an '89 1st generation (it's a pretty low-quality page). They both have the same-size fuel tank though.

No $35 won't get it to half a tank from empty. The tank hold 65 litres so depending on your fuel cost per litre $80 would be about right. My average fill from just below a 1/4 tank is $75. The wife has a diesel one and similar cost to fill in Western Australia but as mine has a V8 in it her fuel lasts a lot longer
