what is the cheapest way to lift my toyota 4runner 3in?

i want to add a 3 inch suspension lift to my 1995 toyota 4runner but all the lifts im finding are around 1,000 dollars i was just curious if there was a cheaper brand that im over looking but any information or input is greatly appreciate thanks

that's because you have IFS. independent front suspension. the bracketry to lift that and support it is not cheap. can't be fabbed,by the masses. the good thing about it is that they've been making them for a long time. they come with just about every little thing to make them as plug & play as possible. save an alignment when done.















having it installed will shock you too.































check "details" on the kit. make sure it's a "full" kit. some come w/ or w/o shocks as some have different tastes for shocks than kit suppliers. if yours is a daily driver slash weekend warrior, the kit shocks will be fine. cheaper anyway.















you will notice some 3" kits are actually 4" up front and 3" rear. don't ask me why. for that reason, i wished i'd just got a 4" kit.

those kits, near as i can tell, app for a "4" runner, are for 95.5 and newer. purdy sure that's production and not model years. and won't work.















but your point regarding lift blocks vs shackle lift for the rear spring are valid. lift blocks lend a mechanical advantage such that the springs are prone to axle wrap. takes a toll on the ring and pinion. shackle lift is best for the rear.

Check out Revtek spacer lifts. They run about $300. Just dont go over 3", then you will need to lengthen brake lines, etc. These spacer lift kits are pretty stiff, but very affordable. Just remember, when lifting a truck, you get what you pay for. Ive got a 3" Revtek spacer lift on my 05 Tacoma, but it is only temporary while I save for a real suspension lift. If you don't go 4 wheeling, and most of your driving is on the street, then a spacer lift is perfect for you.
