how long does a drive belt last on an 08 toyota tacoma 2.7l?

Default how long does a drive belt last on an 08 toyota tacoma 2.7l?
i have been hearing a squeaking noise when i start my in the mornings and was curious if it could be the drive belt. its an 08 toyota tacoma 2.7l engine. how long should that belt last?

Drive belt left depends on the conditions its subjected to. There isn't really an interval that recommends the replacement of the drive belt(s). Only to check them when ever a service is being done. To see if your drive belt is in good condition just look at it and see if its cracking on the ribbed part of the belt.

The belt might just be under-tensioned. With the engine off, press on the belt about half way between pulleys with your thumb. You shouldn't be able to move it more than an inch. On my 2.4L, the belt is tensioned by an adjustment slot on the top alternator mounting bolt. Just loosen the alternator bolt in the slotted bracket, and pry the alternator a little further from the engine block with a lever-like tool before re-tightening the bolt.
