Default 1991 Toyota Camry Speedometer Broken?
The speedometer is broken in my 1991 Toyota Camry and this is the only problem with the vehicle.















Would like to know all possible reasons this might happen and solutions to the problem.















I've heard from numerous people that it is most likely the speedometer cable, does this come in one or two parts for the 1991 Camry, difficult to fix. etc.

several things could be the cable is broken,the plastic gear on the end of the cable housing that goes into the transmission or the inner gear that operates it inside the transmission (expensive it rides on the final drive trans has to come apart for that) or the plastic gear behind the cluster panel which means dash apart your going to have to find out which one take it to trans shop for help. a word of warning if they find that the trans has to come apart then they will recommend rebuilt no shop will do it otherwise sinct the work involved just to get to that gear

one piece. 14". not difficult in skill as room to work. and working upside down.















go to your friendly auto parts store with your vehicle. they'll need to know more than what you mentioned here. auto/manual trans? just the base I4 camry.































bout 10-15 bucks.
