Default the Toyota way - why were only they successful?
if Toyota baceme successfull by following the Toyota Production System or the Just in Time production model, why did not other companies become so successfull after a lag of say few years as these were only simple theoretical concepts and needed no investment or research.

Many many companies have use the "Toyota Way" with great success. MOST successful companies these days use some form of 6-Sigma and "just in time" production, from large corporations to small businesses.

Toyota's success is the result of a lot more than production techniques. It's more about the reputation they have of building solid, reliable cars.

toyota is a success because they eliminate waste meaning the time it takes to get something done and if there is a problem they always go to the source
