96 toyota corolla stuck in park?

Default 96 toyota corolla stuck in park?
i put a new sensor in when the car made a thud sound















i do that now with the emergency button but how can i unlock it to shift the gears normally

Ok this was asked one hour ago. Call for help don't post it on Y!A. Things like I broke my foot what should I do? Call for REAL help-ambulance. So car stuck in park? Call for towing. Got it?

There is a button by the shifter that you can push. It has a cover on it. Pop that off and push it and it will let you shift.

I have no idea what you're talking about with sensors and thuds, but you probably have a blown brake light fuse.

First check the fuses under the dash, it may just be a blown fuse, check the brake lights to see if they work when the pedal is depressed, if the brake lights don't work it won't shift out of park, check the fuse marked "stop" in the fuse panel inside. If the fuse is good and none of the brake lights work check the bulbs if they are good replace the brake light switch located under the dash.
