Default is there a significant difference in fuel economy between 1ZZ-FE and 2ZZ-GE engines?
regular, stick corolla gets 30+mpg















the 2ZZ has more HP and torque and obviously consumes more but is there a HUGE difference in terms of fuel economy??

2ZZ has more HPs because its allowed to rev up faster but in terms of torque its only 5 lb-ft which is nothing noticeable, fuel economy will be the same if you stay on LOW rpm band.































You can use a car performance simulator to virtually swap this engines to any car and see how it performs after, try at http://www.nxgtrsim.com

Depends on how you drive. As for coasting there will probably be a 5mpg difference. Don't take peak output numbers into account. The 1zz prioritized fuel economy more than the 2zz hence the different design of heads.
