Default 1996 toyota camry rough idle please help?
i have a 1996 toyota camry 2.2 engine. 98,000 miles















it has rough idle and i cant figure it out the idle jumps and when i come to a complete stops the car almost dies.















had timing belt done at 92,500















i changed the plugs, wire, cap, rotor, pvc valve, cleaned the egr and throttle. please someone help me thank you

Hello Adam, you have certainly looked at the obvious reasons for your rough idle. Now it is time to pinpoint the exact fault before you spend money in an unnecessary direction.































Within the fuel tank is a device which is known as the fuel pump. Sometimes this pump is not able to maintain the pressure to the fuel lines to make the injectors work at their optimum best. This drop in pressure causes rough idle, stumbling and even engine cut off at idle.































Once you replace your fuel pump with a new one, your problems will be laid to rest.
