I think NUMMI (New United Motor Manufacturing Inc.) Was essentially a US free standing corporation. Don't know about all your multi national international gobbledy gook. GM put in the building and the real estate. Toyota put in its vehicle designs, tooling and the Toyota production system. The Gm labor force was fired and selectively re-hired under Toyota trained managers. Work rules were now enforced. No alcohol, drugs, guns or knives allowed. Behave and work or be fired. The vehicles produced at the plant were purchased and resold by both Toyota Motor Sales and GM (re-badged Toyota models - Corolla to GM Geo Prism etc.) ( a version of the Toyota Matrix was sold as the Pontiac Vibe.)
NUMMI is no more. when GM went bankrupt they abandoned - or sold their share of NUMMI to Toyota. Toyota then closed the plant down. The facility is now owned by Tesla Motors.
