Default Is the Toyota Chaser a fast car?
I got a used 1996 Toyota Chaser. It doesn't seem at all fast nor does it seem like a car someone would race in, but someone told me it's a drifting car. I looked online and saw a bunch of videos showing Toyota Chasers in Japanese racing championships. Why is this car used for racing?

In 1996 Toyota provide 2 available engines, if you dont feel yours fast is because you got the low powered 217 HPs engine, while the top of the line Chaser got the 2JZ-GTE with 276 HPs (limited for Japan), that extra 59 HPs makes the trick.

The toyota Chaser is a fast car because it uses the same inline 6 engine found in toyota supras. The reason why it's slow is maybe because they're mostly found in automatic. Autos use torque converter and robs power. It's probably a 4 door luxury car, which has a lot of stuff in it that makes it heavy. If you gut everything it will pull trust me. Anything with inline 6 (not v6) engine has potential. Reason why you see so many supras modded the heck out.
