is this Q about watts/ohms rating or physical fitment?
back in this day they were prolly 20-40 watt amp units with maybe 20 watt speakers. that's likely a high ball figure. if they were even speakers. some had little peanut speakers with no paper. a little 1/2" approx metal horn if you will.
even if they were real speakers, they were prolly 2-3" ones and didn't have an enclosure. so mounting anything but oem speakers in it's place would be fruitless w/o an enclosure. those you can get at walnut for ten-twenty bucks. likely have to fab or add an after market speaker cabinet system for anything close to quality sound.
speakers are only as good as their enclosure.
funny, aside from the stereo, oem front speakers didn't improve much. the fronts on my 93 are hanging in mid air (no enclosure) behind a plastic grille and are only like 2.5" rated at 20 watts 4ohms. and those were fried.
