what does a flashing check engine means?

Default what does a flashing check engine means?
i have a 03 ford focas and it just started to happen and runs ruff like it wants to stall

A flashing check engine light means a possibly critical failure or malfunction. According to the owner's manual, you should not drive the vehicle but have it towed to a dealer or other service facility and have it checked/repaired.

Probably fuel not getting to injectors, have it immediately put on a scan,

in need of tune up, possible or bad coil. the flashing check engine light means nothing more than you are entering a Catalyst damaging phase, maby a bad plug or plug boot, but is a tune up issue so if your going to do it your self, go to autozone and have them pull the codes, should tell you what cylinder is affected and fix that one cylinder weither it be a bad coil on that cylinder or spark plug, or plug boot. also you can swap coils around, to see if you can move the miss to another cylinder, if so it is a coil. if not plug or wire

it means there is something not right with your engine, it could be a simple loose wire or faulty spark plug ! the list is endless ! if you are not mechanically adept you should get it checked as soon as possible in a reputable car garage/dealers, one thing is for sure it will get worse if you don't!!

It means you have a serious misfire. If you drive it that way the catalytic converter is likely to be damaged. The most likely cause is a bad coil pack, about $150-$200 parts and labor.
