Default Anyone know how to fix a jammed trunk lock on a 1995 Corolla?
Neither the key nor the release hatch from inside the car will open the trunk. My back seats fold down, so I have access to the mechanism to try to fix it.































It seems like there's nothing wrong with the key release or the manual release. They both work fine, only when they move, the trunk doesn't pop open like it should.































Any tips to help me out? I'd rather not call a locksmith or take it into the shop.

Maybe the trunk lid is just stuck to the seal? Have you tried prying up on it when operating the latch? you also should be able to find bolts holding the latch in place from inside the trunk. If you dismount the latch - should be able to get trunk open and get at the latch and find out what is wrong with it. Another thing - i think those cars have torsion rods that "pop" the lid and support it. if they come loose or break - the trunk wont "pop" up.
