A car anti-lock brake sensor has to detect change in wheel speed. If the wheel decelerates faster than 1g, the brakes are released. It should operate above 20 mph and detect wheel-lock in 10 ms or less. What sensor would you select and why?

A Hall effect sensor. It isn't as likely to fail as a reed switch would be in 200,000 plus miles car lifespan. It reacts quickly, and has no contact bounce like the reed switch. It is better than an optical solution as dirt and mud cannot disable it from sensing
