What? You can't clean the fuel filter! You can only replace it. For one, you'd have to depressurize the fuel system, then disconnect the battery negative...during whole process, make sure not to contaminate the fuel system with dirt and such.































EDIT: there is no such thing as non-replaceble fuel filter lol they filter the fuel, and over time they get clogged...plus, Corolla's fuel filter IS replaceble...talking bout bout worst advices lol

Some people give the worst advice...O.K. You definitely need to replace vs clean. The first step would be to go to an auto parts store and purchase a new one and while there they should be able to look up the exact location for it. My Corolla for instance has a non-replaceable one so I don't have to worry about it but I have owned vehicles where it was actually under the back seat....SO..Once you know the location and have located it the easiest way to depressurize the system is to remove the fuel pump Fuse from the fuse box and start the car. It will sputter and then die. This will stop fuel from leaking out. You will still get some but not as bad. Most are held in place with a bolt or two. Make sure you have a small bucket or something to catch the leaking fuel. Make sure also you are 100% sure which end was UP so you put the new one on correctly. Put it back..put the fuse back in and you should be good to go.. Hope this helps
