Question about my 1994 Toyota Camry not starting?

Hi there,















I went to start my car today and to my surprise it wont start. It switched over (a really weak sputtering) but never fully started up.















I'm suspecting something is wrong with my battery but it may be worse... I hear you can also bang on the started but I have no idea what it looks like or where it's located.















On a side note, the other day It would start then about 10 seconds later it would actually "stall" it even happened while I was a light (I had to keep the engine revved up to keep it from stalling).















I'm guessing this is related to my problem.















Any advice?? It's finals week and I'm without a car.

Toyotas are very reliable vehicles, so I doubt it would be anything major. I would take it to your local Auto Zone, Advance Auto Parts, or any automotive parts store. There they can run a diagnostic test on your vehicle to determine whats wrong, and you can get any parts you need right from the store.

issues can usually be solved by checking all cables, pulling the starter and battery and taking those to an auto parts store for free testing.

start with a fresh *complete* tune up. lest ye be trouble shooting under false conditions.

you can pull diagnostic codes yourself. 6" piece of wire w/two alligator clips and your keys is all you need. FYI, not all codes stored prompt a lite. so check for them regardless.

it has a trouble shooting section as well. cross referencing the codes with the trouble shooting table helps.















just remember, codes pointing to sensors don't necessarily mean a sensor is bad. sensors need to be tested. checked good, then the components or environment they monitor should be questioned.
