Default Toyota Tundra Getting Warm?
Hi I own a 2003 Toyota Tundra its got a little less than 100,000 miles on it, but I'm curious. Every winter when my truck is cold and I go to start it up to go somewhere after the truck has completely warmed up like the needle that tells me how hot the engine is, is in the middle my truck will suck about 1/8th of the gas just to get warm. Is something broken in the truck? because my parents cars don't do this and my 1999 Tacoma I had before this truck NEVER did this. What could be wrong with it? If you know or have any idea whats wrong that be great

You should check your antifreeze levels if its low refill if if on max u might want to drain it have it flushed-out and replaced.

Mine does the same in winter. it naturally takes longer to get up to normal temp in winter.. As stated above, make sure your coolant is fresh, and it wouldn't hurt to change the thermostat. They're cheap.

you are just wasting gas letting your truck sit there running start the engine get good oil pressure and drive it the engine will heat faster driving and will not hurt the engine

I agree with Desert Rat PAUL, flush the cooling system, replace the thermostat, and go from there.
