On my old 1995 Camry, there's a little black button next to the PRNDL12 Stick that says power. Pushing it makes the car accelerate a little faster and allows a higher RPM before shifting gears (it's automatic). Anyway, I always leave it on. But I was thinking, is there any harm in doing that? I'm sure my gas mileage might decrease a bit, but does it hurt my car?

There are two buttons near the shifter, the ECT Power button and the O/D (overdrive) button. The overdrive locks you out of fourth gear, so your rpms will be higher than normal when you are driving above 40 mph. This button it usually located on the side of the shifter itself, and it will consume considerably more fuel and may wear your engine out faster when you are on the highway. The little black button located next to the shifter will put the car into ECT (electronically controlled throttle) Power mode. This makes your throttle slightly more agressive, consuming more fuel, but it won't hurt your car.

OK, Dude, it is a 1995 Camry. Not a power house of a motor. And it is 17 years old and I am positive it has a few miles if not over 100,000 very close to that. You need to treat the car as gently as possible. You ask if it will hurt the car. The proper expression is damaging the car. Along with the motor there is the transmission. Every time you ask the motor to work harder (are you racing? You mention 0-60 time) you ask the transmission, the cooling system, the drive system to work harder. You risk damaging or wearing out parts prematurely. It is more than the increase in fuel. OK? Hope you do not break something. Best of luck.
