Does a 2002 Toyota MR2 Spyder handle well in snow with snow tires and added weight?
My dad got me a 2002 Toyota MR2 Spyder for my graduation present. I live in Chicago. I heard that if the Toyota Spyder is equipped with snow tires it should be fine to drive with in the snow. Also one of the Toyota forums said that I should add weight to this car to give it more traction. But where? Some say that adding weight in the frunk will cause it to drag more before stopping. Others say to add weight in the passenger seat floor. Finally others say to add weight in the storage compartment behind the seats. I would like to maybe add weights with buying real heavy dumbells and adding them on the car when it snows bad since I do not want to have this car very light. Where should I add weight and how much weight should I add in case it snows 6 inches outside? I know with rear wheel drive you cannot push down the pedal full force or otherwise you will cause it to fishtail or do a 360. Therefore I have been told to gently press on the pedal to start moving from a light or when turning a corner put it on 2nd gear.
