Default Buying a Prius C?

Do you think it is a good investment to buy a used Prius C or is it better to buy a new one? Also I have heard negative comments about the battery. Is it really a big problem and do they cost too much?

The decision to buy new or used is a personal one. Since the Prius C has not been in production very long, the price advantage of buying used may not be very great. If you are interested in a base-model or lower-trim version, the cost of buying new may be the same or very close to the prices on the used examples, as resale value is high and used examples are likely to be well-equipped. Combined with dealer and manufacturer incentives and financing, in a case like this, buying new may make more sense.

Toyota's high-voltage traction (hybrid) battery packs are not much of a reliability concern--failure rates are the lowest in the industry. The Prius C was selected once again as Consumer Reports' lowest cost car to own and operate. Ownership cost is low and reliability is high.
